      GDC4S WAS a good company - Good ol' boy management is now very short sighted and not strategic at all.

      Pros

      GDC4S has good benefits in comparison to many companies even though they are being cut in 2012.

      Cons

      REALLY bad behavior is not only tolerated but rewarded - management screaming and yelling at the team is quite acceptable but they get promotions and rewards for it. Management dining out on the company tab less than a month after layoffs - very poor taste and sends a message to the rest of the work force.

      Benefits package was decent. People were ok to work with.

      Cons

      Very political with short-term foresight. No accountability for slackers. Promotions not based on merit.

      - Opportunity to work with some of the best and brightest - Opportunity to work on solutions that are making a difference and that matter - Experience that can’t be gained in the consumer market - Good compensation and benefits (compressed work week, extra week off at Christmas, fitness facilities, Recreation Association, etc) - Continuously changing and challenging environment

      Cons

      - Military attitude vs business attitude in some employees/managers - Unionized environment for some professions (National Capital Region) - Necessary security policies that occasionally stand in the way
