Pros

Working directly on programs that serve the USA's defense sector. Having great co-workers.

Cons

The contract game. Of the ~10 years I worked here, almost seven were off and on as a contractor. Management treats this (contracting) as a way to reap all the benefits of a skilled labor force with none of the responsibility apart from flat compensation. If you contract here, there will be talk of possibly hiring at the end of you 12 or 18 month contract-it will never happen. Company uses the sequestration excuses to terminate contractors, then brings them back 90 days later. No upward promotion opportunities.

Pros

Flexible work hours depending on the manager. Newly renovated facility. Equitable compensation package with bonus structure. Plenty of parking. Great office views. Typical DCAA environment.

Cons

Senior leadership is in-bred and ineffective at rallying the workforce. The GMs hide from anyone not VP or higher, and P&L is a simple exercise of balancing manpower through RIFs, and seeking profit through key hires that can bring in contracts as well as acquisitions to similarly build confidence with shareholders.
