Great company, but climate's changing...

Pros

I've been working for General Mills for 15 years, and it's always been a great place to work. The corporate environment is consensus driven, with lots of (too many?) meetings to ensure cross-functional alignment. The company places a great deal of emphasis on employee growth and development.

Cons

Decisions can be slow in this consensus driven environment. Managers need to be given more decision making authority. Also, with slowing growth there has been multiple waves of restructuring that has hurt morale as many colleagues have retired early or been let go. The climate has been changing as the company continues to trim down its employee base.
