      Good company, compensation, opportunities but must be a cultural fit

      Pros

      Industry leader with strong compensation packages and challenging work. Great place to make a career with a company that cares for its employees. Wage employees work pretty hard and managers/leaders are developed.

      Cons

      Unique culture not for everyone (passive aggressive and opinion that strong teamwork = everyone likes each other). Has the tendency to be a 24 hour job once in leadership roles where the clock never stops and the emails/phone calls/texts need to be responded to. More a symptom of technology than the culture with General Mills, but they have embraced the salary employee with a computer they take home and a cell phone that must always be on.

      Pros

      Company values are spot on. Integrity is always number one, and employees have professional respect for each other at the workplace. The highlights of my career so far have been the variety of leadership opportunities I have had. In most case you have autonomy to tweak your role and re-prioritize as you see fit.

      Cons

      Company is slow growth and well established (could also be a pro) - so how is this a con? Only in regard to career progression. In most cases this means that career paths are well established and pre-defined, meaning that programs tend to be formulaic and sometimes you will feel like a cog in a wheel regardless of your performance relative to your peers.
