Interesting business challenges, strong safety culture, exciting growth through acquisition means plenty of career opportunities. Anyone with railroad operations, sales, customer service, maintenance of way or locomotive maintenance experience - particularly those with a willingness to relocate - would be well served by joining G&W.

Cons

Senior management not always on the same page, still some old-school railroaders in senior management. Since railroads run 24/7, 365 operations employees need to be willing to work in all kinds of weather.

Need more process improvement, too many people are being paid less to do more, a need for a project team to handle projects, there is no room to grow unless you been there for more than 7 years.

Pros

There is absolutely nothing good about this company. You are better off for working for another rail provider.

Cons

Management plays favoritism full of incompetent individuals, work processes are outdated and mundane. No sense of urgency and total disregard for employee suggestions to make processes more efficient. The company culture is focused on intimidation to prevent employees from working at other rail partners companies. Human Resources is a joke!
