      Railroad work in general involves an unconventional schedule. Your family time will be limited in some entry level positions and lower seniority positions.

      Nice office location; free parking. Good benefits and retirement plan if you can survive working there.

      Cons

      Stuffy atmosphere in general; not open to new or creative solutions or suggestions. Be prepared to be "railroaded or voted off the island". Insincere coworkers make unpleasant situations worse.

      some managers are out of touch with reality - it's no long 1970. lot of turnover. poor technology.
