Pros

Offers a normally steady place to work, free ceu's online. Usually multiple owned locations or contracts to travel if home building low if you want to travel though this is partly a pro since they are refusing pto supplementation use to add hours. Electronic docs. Good values and culture but just a mask of companies true self. Staff is great at each facility and they care about the residents despite the hardship of management on their backs.

Cons

No room to grow or advance, upper management is all about the reports, focus on saving money by sending therapists home and denying use of pto, it's a contract company so never any guarantees, no bonuses, overtime or raises yet they can spend 25million on merging other failing companies. Force therapy treatment techniques that must be done(otago), recent therapy staff reductions with workload of docs placed on a single supervising therapist depending on siZe of facility. Heavy encouragement for managed care concurrent or group with mandatory goals for weekly reports. Lack of raises or financial incentives to strive for excellence, did I mentioned that? Healthcare terrible thanks to Obamacare.

Pros

Decent pay, PTO, free CEU system (just a bunch of power points, not really effective)

Cons

GRS is an ungrateful, manipulative, disrespectful excuse for a rehab complany. You never feel like your job is secure, always at risk for transfer to other buildings or traveling up to 2 hours away to another building when caseload is low. I worked under several managers, each with their "pets" that got privileges (off every holiday, modified schedule when requested, shorter weekend hours etc...) while the rest of the team sits in disbelief of the biased treatment. The relationship between GRS and GHC is awful, no respect between therapy and nursing and administration, makes caring for your patients hard. Managers make excuses for low merit raises and blame it on the company as a whole, once they actually do your review 4-5 months after it was due. Absolutely no flexibility, tons of PTO but you can't ever use it. If you're hired on at less than 40, expect to work 40 without any of the benefits of a 40 hour employee. You will be their pawn, a puzzle piece that they just try to stick anywhere that works for them, such a shame. Your individual talents are not acknowledged let alone appreciated, you're expendable. You're scheduled at 90% productivity but told under the table, 85% is okay while still fitting in all those patient's in one day. Horrible healthcare benefits, expect to go on Obamacare if you have a family... it'll be cheaper than healthcare from genesis.
