Upper management has heads in the sand
Pros
Your daily experience is highly tied to your local/onsite team which may be great. Lots of education available internally. Some exceptionally talented and dedicated therapists.
Cons
No raises- and you are told to be happy about this because you still have your job. Director level positions being routinely filled with non-therapy staff who are essentially selected to control salary expenses, NOT because they are qualified in any aspect of leadership, management, therapy (*some were, but for the most part many got a promotion from rehab aide to director to save money). No time or money to train them so they don't learn the business other than filling out "the forms". You will accrue massive amounts of time off because you are seldom able to use it (though your bosses outside of the clinic take 2 week vacations every year). Higher level management thinks the staff are lazy and incompetent when goals aren't met rather than looking at WHY challenges exist and how to manage them.
