Pros

Prior to the beginning of the mass exit, the people at Genesys were the best part. Loved who I worked with!

Cons

-The culture has completely changed and has shifted away from what made Genesys so great. -The internal hoops to jump through to try and sell something is ridiculous. Management needs to relax on trying to ensure they can put their stamp on everything and let the sales team do what they do best. -PAY. Genesys will say they are "above average" in comparison with competitors, but that is simply not true. Do your research and don't believe the false promises. -Raises are minimal at best. Don't expect to shoot up in salary -No visibility into management's decisions. Tough to sell something when solutions and go forward strategies change without communication to the sales teams until after the deal is complete. -Work life balance can be tough to manage

Pros

Decent benefits, unlimited time-off, but managers were being told to "question" time-off requests and in some cases decline them.

Cons

I loved working for Interactive Intelligence prior to the merger. Because of that, I decided to spend some time at my new company before writing this review. I wanted to determine if Genesys was so bad because ININ was just so good and in reality Genesys was more of the norm, or if it truly was a mismanaged mess. I came to conclusion that it is the latter. I also want to note that this review is focused on the IT organization. There is no other way to put it, the senior management in the IT organization is awful. There is no strategic vision whatsoever. Everyone is too busy putting out fires (that their legacy process is the cause of) to think far enough ahead to provide value to their business. The business units do not respect the organization and have become disdained having to deal with IT. Staff level position ideas are not valued in the least. Countless times I would provide an idea to make a process better and it was met with, "That's a great idea." No action was ever taken and no empowerment was ever given to create the change. It didn't matter if the idea was large or small. Every concern that was brought to management was blamed on the merger. That excuse got worn out. It is now and year since the merger finalized and none of the concerns that were brought to management have been addressed. Management just can't think far enough ahead to correct the course, or they just don't care. I'm still in contact with the few members that remain from our group and they are still upset about the same issues that caused so many others to flee. The group that I was a part of was close to 30 highly skilled members. Over 20 of them have voluntarily left, including senior leaders. Those are facts that are hard to ignore. Yet, for some reason, still no changes are being made. I know a lot of companies in the Indianapolis area that would like to thank you for running your IT organization into the ground, because they picked up a lot of talented individuals that likely wouldn't have been in the job market without your efforts, or lack thereof.

Leadership Nightmare

Pros

Long timers are a fantastic group to work with. Dedicated and want the company to succeed. Very knowledgeable and willing to grow and learn as things shift and turn.

Cons

New leadership has come in hired to do great things but appears they know nothing about growing a business and leading a team. Only interested in having that ‘promotion’ on their own resumes and annoyed that they actually have to work so hard. No action from HR or executives when complaints are raised formally by individuals regarding blatant disrespect by middle management or leadership which destroys the culture of the office. Money consistently being wasted on stroking the egos of those at the top and planning for growth that never comes to fruition. Sets targets that are never met but doesn’t hold leadership accountable for such targets and turns a blind eye when innocent and critical lower level employees are sacrificed instead.
