Salt Lake City is a toxic environment
Pros
Unlimited PTO (IF your manager allows it). Near competitive benefits. Standard wages for the Salt Lake area. Ability to work from home (again IF your manager allows it).
Cons
The Salt Lake City office has a totally toxic environment that Genesys allows to continue. Don't get me wrong it's not everyone. You have some great employees but then you have some that are power hungry, some needing anger managment classes and some that are downright inept in their job title. If you are an hourly employee, you are required to be in the office to justify a physical presence for Genesys. You are not allowed to telecommute even though Geneesys touts it as one of the benefits. One of the members of Care is remote as is the HR agent for this group. This office is notorious for bringing back former employees into higher positions but need to be careful as some individuals make promises they are not authorized to make which has caused an employee that was brought back to leave. The constant revolvoing door of management is something to be aware of. During my over 4 (four) years I've had 6 managers. Only 2 (two) were worth their salt, the rest were useless in thier role. The idea of training for Care was sending 4 (four) individuals from Salt Lake City to Saint John NB Canada for 2 (two) weeks. The staff in Canada has no training materials, schedule or synopsis for training. At the cost of over $100k, the training was a joke but the agents got a great paid vacation out of it.
