Pros

Take as much time off as you want, within reason.

Cons

Enjoy having someone else take credit for all the work your team actually builds. Their management process in development is completely flawed and managers pretty much have free reign to manipulate and do whatever they want to people on their team and not write any code and get paid very large bonuses for their developers efforts all while degrading their team and letting you know at every turn all the reasons why you cant be on that payroll. Not worth it, I wouldn't advise ever working for this company.

Pros

Relatively relaxed work environment. Unlimited PTO (manager dependent) and fairly decent benefits

Cons

Company is owned by a Vulture Capital firm. After delivering 2 amazing quarters of massive profit during a pandemic, the company thanked the employees by giving Friday’s off in August and then laying off several hundred employees so they can off shore the jobs to India. Never forget that they are 100% about immediate monetary gratification and they don’t care a single bit about employees. You are replaceable and they will drop in a second as soon as they think they can save a little money

Pros

Open Time Off Work from home options Overall the company is a really good company and could be great

Cons

Watch out for a lot of the higher-level leaders in the C-suite. There are so many opportunities to become a great company but the leaders get in the way. Some departments don't seem to be getting along at all and it is noticeable lower in the company. When I go to my HR person, they never seem to know what is going on and I don't think that is because they don't know what they are doing (because they are amazing as an individual) but it is because that department never seems to communicate within itself. I got an email about some secret pay thing and when I asked about it, no one knew what it was or why. The leaders who have been in Genesys for a while are in over their heads. Their jobs doubled overnight and they are not the right people to lead this company to the next level. Some of the old leaders are more interested in the parties and drinking opportunities than leading a real business. Don't be afraid to pay your people what you should. I have watched many good people leave for much higher offers. Stop trying to squeeze blood from a turnip. If you want the best people, you need to pay like you want the best people. Stop trying to backfill everything into 2 or 3 positions in India. You should look at where we have our office locations and ask if it really makes sense. Why are we in Daly City and Markham and not San Francisco or Silicone Valley and Toronto? Isn't that where the good people are and the big companies are there paying a lot more money. Close enough to take our good people but far enough that we can't bring in good hires.
