Thanks for your post! I appreciate the feedback. I want to let you know that we recently developed an internship program to provide more structure for our managers and interns, which we are rolling out this quarter to help make sure every interns' experience is a good one. I'm sorry that you didn't feel like your expectations were met, but I am glad that overall you have a generally positive view of the Company. Best, Tracy (Tracy Cote, Chief People Officer)

Pros

Telecommuting is encouraged. People (most of them) are nice and friendly. Benefits are pretty good. Lots of happy hours to be had. Unlimited PTO is nice concept, but it just means you'll take less time off and won't even ask if you're busy, which is pretty much always.

Cons

Marketing is bloated and divided but has a few earnest, hard-working people. But, there's a group of untouchables that doesn't follow the rules and aren't accountable for errors or antics There's one leader who behaved so poorly, a VP transferred to another dept. Another exec. was a notorious micromanager and rescheduled everything--meetings, interviews, you name it. (Though I heard he left.) While the company as whole seems like a great place to work (just look at all the positive reviews here), a few bad apples can and have spoiled the bunch in the marketing department. They go behind each other's backs, they're rarely direct or honest, and even (on occasion), they lie outright. Something is very broken on this team, and hopefully it can be fixed. I have a couple of friends who still work there, and they really love the company but hate what's happening right now. Compensation is a bit on the low side.

Thanks for taking the time to post a few positive comments along with your concerns. We are absolutely committed to building a world-class company and marketing team. And, we are actively executing on our plans to accelerate our marketing team transformation with substantial investments in our people, technology and core processes. We have recently combined the Product and Marketing teams, creating a powerful, high functioning overall department, strategically aligned and clear in our goals and objectives. Genesys is a great place to work, I believe it's the best place to work. I am sorry your experience was subpar and that I did not have the chance to work with you, as I am extremely committed to building a top performing marketing department that not only does exceptional marketing, but operates as a team and has fun along the way. I do wish you luck with your next steps. …Merijn te Booij, Chief Marketing Officer
