Cons

Lots of politics. Poor handling of integrating the employees and customers that came along with all the business acquisitions

Thanks for writing. I am truly sorry to hear that you felt like your integration experience was subpar. We have acquired many companies over the past several years, and we always strive to make our newest family members feel welcome and part of the new team. However, I recognize that it can be a big adjustment going from a small company to a larger one. Best of luck to you in your new endeavors. ...Tracy Cote, SVP HR

Pros

Nice people. Free parking, close to Bart. Not the prettiest place to work but convenient.

Cons

Many employees have been here a long time and many are not open to change. Company runs lean but not smart. Manager's need more management training. Huge disparity with compensation. Many managers with direct reports are remote or work from home 2-3 times a week.

Thanks for your feedback. Many of our departments do offer flexible work schedules; as a global technology company, our focus tends to be more on what we’re achieving rather than where people are sitting. If you have concerns about your compensation or the amount of face time you are getting with your manager, I encourage you to meet – or have a video call with - your manager or your HR partner to discuss...Kari

Pros

Home office, innovative, flat organization, customer focused

Cons

current ownership, promoting from within is difficult and always leads to compensation issues - where Genesys don't pay the person what they are worth

Thanks for taking the time to post. Glad to hear that overall, you’d recommend Genesys. Having been in HR for many years, I know that sometimes people feel they have to leave and come back to get a salary increase which is really too bad and usually totally unnecessary. While there is always an exception to the rule (i.e. where a person takes a bigger role at a new company and gains new experience and wants to return to apply it), the majority of the time I see people return for the exact same amount of money they made when they left. People do this for a variety of reasons but most often it’s because they realize that while any company might have its moments, overall, Genesys really is a great place to work and compensation is only one factor. If you have concerns about your compensation or that of your team, don’t hesitate to approach your manager, VP or HR partner to discuss. We are always open to conversations on this or any topic. ...Tracy
