Cons

The merger of Genesys into Alcatel-Lucent Enterprise is bringing together two entities with clashing culture. The lack of appropriate change management and morale boosting will drive talented employees away. Very hard to mix French and American working cultures and achieve harmony.

This company used to be a stable place to work. The benefits are better now that Alcatel Lucent has taken over.

Cons

Very political place, if you are in the in crowd you are fine, if you are not you will be out. They are becoming Alcatel Lucent at this point. It is becoming much harder to do things.there is a lot of confusion on what tomorrow brings because of Alcatel coming in. Each year the focus is changing on how to do business.

Before Alcatel-Lucent: CULTURE - some of the best, smartest people with an incredible drive and sales focus. Work hard, play hard. People measured on revenue/profitability, quality, contribution.

Cons

After Alcatel-Lucent: Grey corporate culture. More Process. Employee frustration. Great company culture and focus being rapidly lost in the haze of Big-French corporate advancement and back-stabbing. People measured on number of reports, management-level (difference in pay grade actually cited in some meetings). Could not have fallen farther or faster.
