The pay is not the reason I stay at this company. It's not bad, for the area its about average I suppose but I did list it as a con, so take that as you will.
Management direction is not always clear and can change weekly. Usually not large changes, but enough to keep me bumping between tasks.
Promotions may take years to happen after you've fulfilled the requirements. Management is bad at setting clear goals for career growth. In fact, management changes the job description every few months it seems.
Cloak-and-dagger firings/layoffs have happened several times this year. I don't know how common this is at other companies but I find it weird.
When company structure is changing there is not much communication on what will happen to those of us doing the grunt work. Will your department exist tomorrow? Who knows.
Quality varies quite a bit between teams. This means that you will end up cleaning up the mess that other teams leave because they're "not required to do that thing," etc. It's a terrible excuse but that's what happens when management has no idea what is really happening on the ground floor.
