Pros

I work for a supervisor who cares about me as a person. My supervisor stretches me to perform at a higher level and make sound decisions.

Cons

There are some people that don't understand the real world and live in an ivory tower. I think they mean well, but don't understand the context of the rest of the working world outside of the academic sphere.

There are some challenges with recent budget cuts. There is also a lack of support between faculty and staff.

Wonderful faculty supervising TAs. Paired with 2-3 faculty members and given creative freedom in presenting information.

Cons

Huge time commitment--definitely beyond amount indicated in job description. Little training besides classroom moderating.
