Pros

Health care benefits International team Scientifically strong

Cons

Key functions overworked, frequent evening/weekend/holiday work, urgencies and firedrills because functions in charge of execution lack expertise. Limited CRO oversight resulting in overspending. Despite extra hours, no overtime pay, no lost vacation pay.

Behind the Scenes at Genmab

Pros

Good for lazy people enjoy the paycheck Good for associate director level above

Cons

• No promotion path for junior staff: Career progression is nearly impossible unless you’re hired as an Associate Director or above from a big pharma. Internal growth is not valued. • Chaotic organization: The rapid growth has led to disorganization and unclear roles. Many teams are understaffed, while others are over-resourced without clear responsibilities. • Lack of experienced leadership: Many people at the Associate Director and Director levels lack leadership or strategic experience, leading to poor decisions and mismanagement. • Top-down culture: Decisions are made from the top with little transparency or input from those actually doing the work. • Unequal workload: Some people are buried in work while others do close to nothing, and management turns a blind eye. • Favoritism and nepotism: It’s clear who is protected and who is not, regardless of performance. • Terrible internal resources: Systems, documentation, and support functions (like HR and IT) are either outdated or poorly managed. • Low compensation: Salaries are not competitive compared to other biotech/pharma companies in the area.
