Pros

Good for lazy people enjoy the paycheck Good for associate director level above

Cons

• No promotion path for junior staff: Career progression is nearly impossible unless you’re hired as an Associate Director or above from a big pharma. Internal growth is not valued. • Chaotic organization: The rapid growth has led to disorganization and unclear roles. Many teams are understaffed, while others are over-resourced without clear responsibilities. • Lack of experienced leadership: Many people at the Associate Director and Director levels lack leadership or strategic experience, leading to poor decisions and mismanagement. • Top-down culture: Decisions are made from the top with little transparency or input from those actually doing the work. • Unequal workload: Some people are buried in work while others do close to nothing, and management turns a blind eye. • Favoritism and nepotism: It’s clear who is protected and who is not, regardless of performance. • Terrible internal resources: Systems, documentation, and support functions (like HR and IT) are either outdated or poorly managed. • Low compensation: Salaries are not competitive compared to other biotech/pharma companies in the area.
