Pros

The money is attractive but you do have to fight for it. The "little people" who actually contribute to culture are great but there are only a handful.

Cons

There are way too many co-cooks in the kitchen and not a clear direction from leadership or anyone really.

Thanks for taking the time to share feedback on your experience at Gensler. We appreciate your candor and consider all the feedback we receive. Had you identified which office location you worked out of, we could forward your review to local leadership; however, without a specific location that isn't possible. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Pros

You get to work alongside some very talented individuals

Cons

Unless you drink the Kool-Aid and kiss up to the right people, you don't have a chance to grow and develop in your career. You are not seen as valuable unless you're titled staff, achievable by doing above, or threaten to quit, that has helped some. Too many meetings making it difficult to focus on project work and business development. Coaching is done to tick off the box, not because you and your growth is valued. If you are an entry level designer or an admin, you may as well be invisible. Although each office and region is different, nothing is done to eradicate the toxic leadership that permeates many of the offices.

Thanks for the feedback. We treat workplace concerns seriously and address them in accordance with our internal policies and procedures. We have multiple channels for reporting issues and we train and encourage our team members to use them. Encouraging everyone to ask questions and provide honest feedback is critical to supporting our culture and our values of integrity, trust and mutual respect. We appreciate your feedback and will share your comments with the firm’s leadership; although without a location as to which office you worked, it's impossible to provide feedback to your regional and office leadership team.
