Pros

Great work life balance, ability to work from home when needed - flexibility when you are on the road. Many times you will be allotted free days of PTO if you have been overloaded with work or have been traveling. Good experience learning project management skills, working with well known fortune 500 companies - looks good on a resume. You have the opportunity to work on a variety of different projects and are given a say-so on what you work on.

Cons

The staff is horribly under paid considering the amount of work you put in. The "bonuses" and "raises" are essentially non-existent. There are people on staff who have worked for the company 10+ years and have only gotten pay raises 2-3 times. There are a lot of politics that come into play when it comes to who is promoted, it's not necessarily based off performance. It's almost not worth it to get promoted because you will get 5X the work with a VERY minimal pay increase. There's not a lot of room to grow with the company.

Pros

Crash course in professional development, project management, and client management as you take on projects to execute high profile executive events. Exposure to event marketing and strategy at a Fortune 500 level.

Cons

The hours can be long and the pay is approx $20-30K below salaries for similar roles in the market. There is not much by way of professional leadership/management but the company has recently brought on a new CEO to improve some of these issues. This is still a great jumping off point to a career in project management/event execution & strategy/marketing.
