There isn't any room to move up. It's a large organization, so you can move to another department / area of the university to move up, but don't plan on being promoted in your current department / school. Bureaucracy. HR is particularly bad. It takes FOREVER to get people onboard. They're pretty stingy with raises for staff, but not for faculty. The highest staff performers at the university receive 3% increases.

I do not think any downsides of this university. The only problem being the commutation to the lab facility. We have shuttle provided, but not at good timings.
