Pros

The tuition benefits are wonderful, senior management is excellent at both encouraging and giving ownership to employees. Staff is helpful and departments work well together.

Cons

A few departments have some issues with prompt call-back, both to internal and external customers. However, efforts are being made to change this and the results are visible already.

Pros

Reputation of GWU is very good nationwide. Most of the time saying you work at GWU impresses others -- whether they know anything about the university or not. Another good reason is DC itself. It's a world capital - full of museums, monuments and energy. I sure beats working in the small college towns that host many of the nation's universities.

Cons

Very poor IT department. Every bug is a "known issue" = we know there's a bug and we can't fix it. Faculty feedback is not encouraged. It is a very 'top down' management structure.

Decent pay, located in Washington DC and there is job security. Co workers are generally fun.

Cons

Incompetent management. Stupid telephone system for time clocking, even for regular employees. The benefits are not good and they cut back on small things like Coffee, Water Cooler, etc.
