Pros
- GREAT location. very convenient to metro, good restaurants, downtown DC, monuments - GREAT tuition benefits if you are interested in GW's programs. It is too expensive to go otherwise. - For prospective graduate students, I would recommend they get a job at GW first to earn the tuition benefits. If you do not take the almost free classes, it is a waste of your money. GW doesn't pay much so take advantage of the education or you are throwing away money.
Cons
- BUREAUCRACY!!!!!!!!!! - GW medium sized school but it runs itself into the ground like its the US federal gov't. - In certain career fields, seems to encourage growth & advancement, but there is an "old boys" network in many other places. Treatment of staff, career development, and salaries are very uneven across the University. - Nothing is transparent. - Higher up Administration not open. Often need to rely on rumors - even from students - to learn of major news that affects employees. - Few options for training.
