Pros

Coworkers and students are outstanding. Good retirement package. It is in many ways a lovely place to work. Good location.

Cons

Very low pay. Way behind other area schools in the area. Always being asked to do more with less, always in belt-tightening mode. Very distinct silos. Lots of people all over campus working on similar things with very little idea what others are doing.

Pros

The administration doesn't really pay much attention to what's taught in the classroom by adjuncts, which allows a certain amount of academic freedom. Regrettably, it also contributes to an atmosphere of social promotion and erodes any quality control over who actually receives a degree.

Cons

Like almost every other higher ed institution, Georgetown grossly underpays its adjunct professors. They highly leveraged my salary in collecting a high multiple in terms of tuition received for the courses I taught.

Pros

Colleagues. Programming. Great retirement plan. Tuition reimbursement. Mission. Sense of purpose and completion. You can take on as much as you can handle and they let you run with projects. A lot more responsibility at a young age early in my career.

Cons

Salaries are terrible. Once you are in the door there are minimal raises so they lose talent. It's easier to leave (or switch campuses) and then come back with a higher paying job than having grown through the ranks.
