Do not recommend; other universities treat their employees better
Pros
When I was there, mental health counseling was provided for free as a benefit through One Medical, in addition to free One Medical membership. Not sure if that is included anymore.
Cons
When the pandemic hit, they forced departments to volunteer one or more lower-level staff members to serve as the guards who were checking people at building entrances during the pandemic shutdown. You could either accept the role or go on unpaid leave for about 4 months. You weren't paid extra and you were expected to perform your normal job in addition to 20 hours of guarding the entrances. Absolutely horrific treatment of staff. Do not recommend working here. The pay is also one of the lowest among the universities in the area, and instead of providing merit raises, everyone gets standard 2% raises depending on the whim of the finance office that year. If you want to get a real raise, you have to go out and get a competing offer, and they will only match, not beat, your competing offer.
