Pros

Nice people Flexible hours - can pop out of the office for a doctor's appointment without it being an issue Tuition Benefit (however great, it is very grey regarding admission into program of choice)

Cons

Salary is low, especially for DC No bonuses, raises seem to be nonexistent Not many opportunities for growth Things are inefficient, not much foresight, always feel like issues are fixed with a band-aid and no real changes are made

Pros

Very caring supervisor. The timings are very flexible. The management is very accommodating for the schedule at Business school and I can change my timings accordingly.

Cons

The work is not all that strenuous but because of the classes in MBA it makes a very tough thing to manage time and work here. The compensation is not great but definitely worth doing.

Pros

Job security, good benefits (including full tuition after one year's service), generally intelligent, committed colleagues (depends on unit), smart students, prestigious organization

Cons

Pay hardly increases (less that 2%/year for even the best performers--some years is flat), no cost of living adjustment, little incentive or possibility to move up in the organization, little incentive for professional growth (it has to come from you), widespread disregard for staff by faculty and upper administration, including the Provost.
