Pros

Genuine, supportive environment! Great colleagues! Very employee-oriented. Growth-oriented. Offers free supervision, CEU's, test reimbursement for licensure. Continuous training and support. Very innovative and working to reach as many clients as possible that otherwise wouldn't get served.

Cons

With community mental health comes driving and going in client's homes. This can be seen as a positive or negative depending on your preference in social services.

Pros

-Flexible Schedule -Results oriented -Independence -Manageable caseload -Supportive Team -Free Continuing Education Credits -Supervision available for licensing -Coworkers are team oriented -Great relationships with community partners -CEO is so very supportive of each and every employee's personal growth -Upper leadership is very receptive to new ideas and listens to employee's needs

Cons

-You must take initiative, this job isn't for everyone -Time management is a MUST -You have to spread your wings and fly, they don't baby you and hold your hand every step of the way (but I love that about this job, and it isn't for everyone) -You have to be able to use critical thinking skills and work independently (I enjoy this)

Pros

- flexibility - make your own schedule - take as few or as many clients as you like - okay benefits (if you can meet their productivity standards) - opportunities for promotion

Cons

- constant changes and shifting in management due to high rates of employees leaving the company - CEO has no mental health background - management focus more on money as opposed to taking care of employees - productivity standards are difficult to meet to be considered full time - meeting clients in office is rarely an option - managers and team leads are often Bachelor level workers with no real counseling experience and manage teams of counselors - pressure to keep clients, even if it is unethical or unsafe to do so - everyone is expected to keep a caseload of clients, no matter your role in the company - it will take months to get insurance units sometimes
