Pros

There' is tons of overtime. The average work weeks per season are seventy hours. The pay is a competitive wage.

Cons

short breaks...no lunch hour Also, though the work is seasonal, you're led to believe that if you have perfect attendance and work hard, you will most likely be hired for a permanent position, but it's not a given.

Pros

The Atlanta office is nice, and located close to a variety of lunch time options. They are renovating several floor with open concept business cubicles that allow increased communication.

Cons

Any learning required to complete the job is up to you. Very limited help, or assistance to learn the complete function of your job. No mentors and no guidance. MBM culture at Georgia Pacific is having difficulty being fully incorporated. Middle management is slow to switch to the new philosophy, preferring the good old boy, command and control legacy. They talk the MBM talk but they cannot walk the MBM walk! Mobility within the company is difficult at best. Once you are in a position, you are there to stay. Compensation beyond your initial salary is rare. The Corporate building has a covered parking deck that employees have to pay to park in and the corporate office has a gym that employees must pay to go too.

Pros

Overtime is available most of the time. Anyone willing to work, regardless of skill set or position can make $50,000 a year.

Cons

If you are looking for someplace big so that you can advance up the company ladder, keep looking. If you are not part of the inner circle, it is not going to happen quickly. Education, and experience in leadership, and business management is not valued here. Put in 10+ years, or get cozy with the decision makers and you may have a chance. Supervisor feedback is not respected by upper management, or HR either.
