Great company, better culture

Pros

Work from home, depending on role, pre & post COVID. No set work space which allows you flexibility and choice. Gym, parking, childcare, dry cleaner, CVS onsite. Large company which allows growth as individual both personally and professionally. MBM culture is truly embraced at all levels and focuses on long term growth and opportunities for society, customers and employees. Left once for better money and opportunity but missed family atmosphere, culture that was more than slogan on wall, and my friends. Came back within 5 months and will retire in next decade or so after celebrating 25 years last year.

Cons

No Monday morning quarter-backing, you are responsible for you and contributing to the success of your teammates, business and company. Demands your best and does not tolerate mediocre contribution. You stand on your own and have a voice that you are expected to use and grow culture.

Pros

good co-workers. Previously had financial ability to place the right bets on the long term value. Market-based Management is a strong philosophy, but seems rarely applied.

Cons

Company is cutting 40%+ of HQ employees. Focus is on short term 3-6 month performance. Company performance and culture has been in decline for 5+ years and come to a head in 2020. Political favoritism is now running wild. Leaders who have failed to successfully lead over the past decade are still in power and are cutting anyone who would challenge their old-school thinking. Compensation has never been transparent. Raises only occur based on flight risk (i.e. if you don't complain, you wont get a raise). Bonuses are not based on any performance metrics and instead are paid out arbitrarily. HR claims it is "value paid for value created" but every leader knows it's just a bucket of money handed to each group and paid out based on manager preferences.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to write a review and share your candid feedback. We have been in a transformational time since late 2019 with the launch of our new vision and focusing on areas needed to change in order to achieve these goals. It has not been easy, and many tough decisions have been made. Work should be rewarding and fulfilling and I am disappointed to read you feel this might have been lost. I have shared this feedback with the appropriate leadership teams as awareness and reminders and thank you again for sharing. -Molly from Talent Solutions

Pros

Work Flexibility: Compressed Schedules 7-4 , 8-5, 9-6 with the option of choosing what you want in most groups. Work from Home options in most groups with most people getting at least 2 days WFH. Some options to work 10 hour days with every Friday off. Office: Beautiful newly renovated offices in Downtown Atlanta. High end with savvy technology. Premier location near Georgia State University. Advancement Opportunities: Plenty of opportunities during certain times of the year for advancement.

Cons

Leadership/Management: HORRIBLE. They are sneaky and manipulative. They pick favorites and will hold you from moving to new opportunities within the company. They don't follow the Koch Guiding Principles and make work life very toxic. Compensation: Base Salary is not really competitive, imperative that you negotiate salary wisely before accepting offer because there is NO BONUS PROGRAM. NO INCENTIVES for employees what so ever. They have a spot bonus that leadership can give out, but no one does to keep cost low. NO INCENTIVES: Leadership had the mentality that you should be happy to have a job but we all know that does not work in Atlanta, there is way to much competition for good talent.
