Pros

You can be very well rewarded if you add value. Unfortunately value added is often very subjective.

Cons

Strong emphasis on adding value can create a selfish environment. The challenge process whereby you are supposed to be able to speak your mind to superiors only works when it is convenient for them.

Pros

One of the best reasons to work at GP is the stability of the company. I enjoy working for my boss, the hours, and work.

Cons

I at times worry about the upper mobility in the company. I have only been with GP a year so no firm reasoning or evidence that strong employees will not move up the ladder quickly but it is something that I question at times.

Pros

Large Company, easy to transfer to different divisions or functions. Mostly merit based promotions as opposed to tenure. Generally competitive benefits. Market Based Management keeps the company from making major mistakes.

Cons

Libertarian ownership sometimes misses the fact that they are competing against non-libertarian employers for top employees.
