People are incredibly friendly and helpful. The work is interesting at times.

Cons

Upper management is scattered and does not have clear vision to pass on to lower level employees.

Pros

This is a good place to work mainly because the benefits and work life balance can't be beat. Overall the staff is friendly with one another and there are social activities almost every week. Beautiful building in DuPont Circle. Opportunities for travel.

Cons

GMF has experienced some growing pains in the last two years. The newly instated Executive Team gets less done and tends to push their own agendas above what is best for GMF. Your experience here will differ greatly depending on which team you're on. Some Directors are great to work with and others are definitely not. Some of the old guard is unqualified and overpaid and were promoted in to their positions years ago without getting additional training. There are also wonderful and highly skilled individuals.

Pros

There was always something going on, whether it was a conference, a roundtable discussion or a visit from a foreign delegation. This offered everyone, from interns to top-level executives, the chance to mingle and attend an event.

Cons

Sometimes it feels like there is no real point to what is being done at GMF.
