Pros

Great work life balance, good benefits

Cons

Not an ideal company to grow. The company is run by a few sharp minds and the rest is there stay 20 years to get the day to day done.

Hi, there - thank you for your review. We’re glad to hear that you experienced a strong work-life balance and valued our benefits, as these are areas that we work hard to maintain through our Flexible Work Principles and the hard work of our benefits team. We also appreciate your perspective on growth opportunities. We recognize that career development looks different for everyone, and we’re continually working to expand learning paths, mentorship, and opportunities for increased responsibility across the organization through year-end reviews and regular manager check-ins. We do also value the deep experience that long-tenured team members bring to our day-to-day operations, while also trying to provide growth opportunities for those who want to also grow their careers with Getty Images. If you'd like to talk about this, or any other topic, in further detail, feel free to email me at sarah.dudley@gettyimages.com!

Good team, uncertain future

Pros

Colleagues are genuinely supportive and easy to work with, which makes day-to-day work much easier. For years, the company offered great flexibility and trust around managing your schedule.

Cons

With the upcoming merger with Shutterstock, flexibility is expected to be reduced, and some teams may be required to go into the office twice a week. There might also be some restructuring. Meanwhile, workload and expectations have already started to increase. A key issue is how the company handles recognition. Impactful work often goes unnoticed unless employees actively promote their own achievements. There’s no official process for recognition, but in practice, employees are expected to “market” their work, rather than management or the organisation taking responsibility for understanding each team’s contributions. As a result, promotions can feel tied more to visibility and internal politics than to actual performance or expertise. The structure is still very top-heavy, and roles and responsibilities aren’t always clear, which adds to the confusion and disconnect.

Hello! Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you’ve experienced strong support from colleagues and valued the flexibility that has been an important part of our culture. We stand by our Flexible Work Principles and we're glad they've created a positive environment for you! We also appreciate the concerns you’ve raised. As we navigate the Shutterstock merger, we understand that changes can create uncertainty. Our goal is to communicate clearly and proactively as plans develop, and to ensure that any transitions are managed thoughtfully and in line with our Leadership Principles. Your comments about recognition, visibility, and career progression are valued as well. We always want to recognize contributions, clarify expectations, and make growth paths transparent. Our quarterly manager/employee check-ins are a great time to discuss career goals and progression. Please know your HRBP is available as well should you wish to have further conversations. We also hear your feedback around organizational structure and role clarity. Our wider HR team works to ensure our roles are aligned and that career pathing is published, where available. Thank you again for sharing your perspective - if there is anything else you'd like to share, or if you'd like to chat in further detail about any of the above topics, feel free to reach out to me at sarah.dudley@gettyimages.com
