Pros

Solid benefits package and salary is adequate (but not great). Culture is relaxed, not too corporate feeling. Great office location, the office itself could use a serious facelift but its not terrible. Overall good place to work.

Cons

Not exactly leading edge when it comes to technology platforms or innovation. Budgets and resources are routinely taken away half way through the year to make the numbers for its holding company which makes accomplishing team goals near to impossible.

Amazing people, non-communicative leadership

Pros

Smart, funny, kind playful people, all drawn to the company at least in part because they love art and photography. best Work-life balance of any company I've ever been at - 40 hours/week really is the norm; huge support from co-workers and HR and management for any family issues/needs. Execs hearts are definitely in the right place - instead of having their huge expensive dinner to celebrate the company's purchase, the new owners and execs donated the entire cost of the dinner to recovery efforts from Hurricane Sandy.

Cons

New leadership in the product division is more invested in short-term rather than long term gains. Huge pressure to do things too quickly. I understand the need to pivot and make substantial changes but there's no communication about what they want to achieve and it feels like we're driving fast through a blinding snow storm. If the execs don't know how to get us where they want to go, I'd really like them to tell us that rather than holding our collective foot to the gas pedal.
