Pros

For talented developers, you have flexibility in choosing your projects. The majority of the IT staff is fun and easy going.

Cons

There is a too much process for such a medium sized company. The development methodology is Agile and it has gone too dogmatic and not practical.

Pros

Getty hires good competent people wih generally good attitudes. Great health/dental/vision benefits. Allows domestic partner benefits at low cost. Great location in the heart of Fremont. Not your average company, very lively and much like Fremont. Spends money on new technologies instead of finding ways keep old technology alive. Every employee has their ideas considered.

Cons

Getty while still very successful seems to be using the economic downturn to make cuts, this may be due to the fact that Getty is now privately owned. Slowly starting to care more about the company and less about the employee. Overall employee moral is lowering. 401k matching has ceased. Bonuses are now 100% Company performance based(used to be 50% individual performanced based)

Pros

The culture of the office is welcoming and accepting among the rank and file. Generally speaking it is a pleasant place to work.

Cons

RE: Chicago Sales - Particularly in the Chicago office, there is no where to go. More attention is being given to Learning and Development, however the result is irrelevant quizzing of employees, not continued education. Seems to be putting the horse in front of the cart there. The only thing measured in one's career is their ability to manage up. Work ethic, leadership, honesty and even at times Revenue numbers don't matter.
