Pros

* Many well intentioned and intelligent people to work with * Good business outlook and Industry leader so you have a sense of pride * Senior leadership communicates their intentions very well * Unlimited vacation * Easy going work environment if you don't care about career progression

Cons

Disclaimer: It seemed like this was particularly nature of the search unit so may not apply to the rest of the tech org. 1. Directionless middle management that has no clue about people management and act like all the engineers are replaceable. It seems that senior leadership's principles are completely lost around the VP level. All that the CEO works for is negated by the management's actions. 2. Everyone's running; no one knows where to. Everyone's under pressure to deliver but people/projects are shuffled so often that nothing of value seems to come. Imagine hiring the best people then not listening to them and killing their creativity while running towards a meaningless measure. 3. They haven't figured out how to separate out research and innovation from sustainability and feature development. There is a constant struggle to get anything released. 4. Limited career growth - You have to threaten them to leave to get a promotion. A company that promotes when prompted can never gain the loyalty of their employees. 5. Managers, PO, PMs are puppets. They are all stepping on each other's toes. No one has any authority really and so every is just scared to act their role.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We agree, we do have an intelligent, well-intentioned team and are excited about our business outlook. We have spent time working on how and why we communicate and very glad to hear that is resonating. Regarding your additional feedback, we appreciate your time to share with us your concerns, the insight allows us to dig in further and understand how this is impacting you and potentially others. It is unfortunate to hear this is your experience of people management and know we are actively working on continuing to educate our people managers through programs such as People Manager Essentials and Leader Foundations. Our team is striving to grow in the Search space and we have carefully crafted our Goals and Core Drivers to ensure we are focused on the most important items, which is why we have hired critical Search talent. It is important to we are tapping our talent for the best possible solutions. While we do hear feedback on career growth possibilities, by establishing more frequent check-ins throughout the year, we are currently working on developing further career development in Technology. Search is a key part of our future success. Consistent with our Leadership Principle of transparency, I’ve shared this review with our CTO and Search Leadership team. They are taking this feedback onboard together with feedback shared by employees in our Employee Engagement Survey and during midyear review discussions. We strive for a very different employee experience than yours and I would appreciate speaking with you further so I can partner with leadership to continue to improve. Pros

First and foremost, even more than the fact that I get to work in a field that is a pure passion of mine, are the people that make up Getty Images. It's incredible that I have had so much positive and really no negative experience with Getty personnel, that I've made some of my closest and longest running friends, and that they're the best in the business - whom I get to learn from and be inspired by on a daily basis. Whether they were/are administrative staff, editors, photographers, Senior level management, reception, freelance or staff - the people I've met have been remarkably and consistently exceptional. And most of all, the support I get from my direct team here in NYC. I am so grateful for all of this. The education and experience I have obtained and continue to, not only on photography, but life-navigation lessons, on so many levels through travel and especially by interacting on so many levels with so many different types of people from so many different parts of the planet and industries and life right here where I'm based in New York City. Outside of work, I am leading a happy, healthy interesting life, and I feel I am able to do so because of the positive capacity and well being that is my mentality. And this is largely due to the lifestyle *that is my work, and the support and harmony I get from Getty and my team directly. I can go on and on about the pro's I continue to experience at Getty, but I'm going to end with the fact that Getty has always had my back, has been so supportive of me. This has been demonstrated directly time and again over my 17 years here, as being "in the field", traveling, and dealing with some unforeseen hurdles life throws at you is challenging enough as it is. For one's company to have your back without any indication of doubt because you've worked hard and proved loyal, is invaluable, the gratitude is immeasurable. **All three CEOs I have worked under have given nothing short of an elevated impression on me, as to what a CEO could and should be. It seems that Craig Peters, is on a whole other level of elevation. I can go on about this, but I believe it's obvious and understood as the consensus. So all must trickle down and hopefully rise up his way for positive momentum. And all of this goes ESPECIALLY for a big corporation (!!)

Cons

Really nothing that I can think of. Anything would be a stretch, especially considering the pro's.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share a review! It is so wonderful to read this and learn of the positive experience you are having working for Getty Images. We have managed to build a culture of close, supportive, collaborative, beyond talented individuals who have fun while doing truly amazing work, and it is largely due to having such special people such as yourself. Thank you for all that you do and we look forward to seeing your contributions for many years to come!

Hello! Thanks for posting a Glassdoor review and for your contributions to the organization for 20+ years! What a milestone, and one that you should be very proud of. It is great to hear that you are experiencing positive work-life balance and are satisfied with the total rewards package of compensation and benefits. However, I would be curious to find out more on how we can create more balance with country managers to improve workload. Your feedback is important and can help shape, not only your experience, but others at Getty! I will encourage you to please reach out to your manager or HR Business Partner to share more and see what ways we can further improve your experience. Thank you!
