Pros

GitLab's value proposition is a single automated DevOps platform with security baked in. This allows our customers to develop and deploy their business applications much more quickly (and securely) than they can with traditional DevOps approaches.

Cons

As the company has grown and now gone public, there is more internal bureaucracy which slows down decision making.

Pros

* most people are great colleagues * quite good remote-first company with the asynchronous communication being preferred

Cons

* feels very American as most team members (and most of the leadership) are US-based * it changed since the IPO, now reaching profit ASAP is the most important thing * poor allocation of resources * poor people management * a lot of incompetence among the leadership * very limited opportunities for career progression in the design team
