Pros

+Incredible growth trajectory +Employee stock options (which gives everyone further incentive and ownership in the organization) +Great benefits (medical and dental in US) plus remote only, flexible hours, and unlimited PTO +Learning culture It's totally ok (and encouraged) to make mistakes as long as you are learning and growing from them +Incredible product with real market differentiation and clear value proposition +Committed employees, managers, and community dedicated to making GL great +Visible and accessible executive team +Fewer meetings, more productivity +Everyone contributes and is hands on with the product

Cons

-Growth is very fast, and the culture is changing as a result. Not a con, but just something to consider. Scaling such a niche awesome culture is hard to do. I think GL is doing a good job so far but I anticipate hurdles. -Learning curve and onboarding ramp up can be steep -Only meeting team members once per year -Some kinds of work are valued higher than others

Pros

- 100% remote - a lot of freedom and trust is granted in how you spend your work hours - great benefits - a very diverse team of people all over the globe - (their entire employee handbook is open source and published online - give it a look!)

Cons

- average to below-average salary - a lot of responsibility to manage time effectively - a high bar for hiring due to recent spike in publicity and popularity

Pros

The executive team at GitLab is excellent and wants people to be happy at work and succeed in their jobs. I've been given every tool I need to be successful. Working remote has been amazing. I have the opportunity to mold my work schedule to be whenever is most convenient for me. I usually take a break during the day to run errands or go to the gym.

Cons

Working remote isn't for everyone. Some people can feel isolated. The company is also quick to let people go if they aren't able to work effectively remotely. This has led to a few people that get hired and then let go very quickly or within a few months. I think the company is making efforts to fix this in the hiring process.
