Unlimited PTO. Decent comp on hire.

Cons

Csuite execs aren’t the best leaders, removed from what their teams need or who is actually contributing in an effective way. I had a severe micromanager who also was very absent and changed their mind constantly. No opportunity for growth in this job category. Promotions are not equitable or standard. No one is ensuring EBAs are measured against the same standards. Severe favoritism. Get ready to get “handbooked” and told to do things the “GitLab way”… Hope you enjoy spending your day taking verbatim notes for calls as well, complete waste of time.

Gitlab was a great company when I was there. Fantastic culture, great product and collaborative environment. There have been many changes so I can't speak to the working environment at present.

Cons

Lots of internal meetings when it would be beneficial to have more external meetings.

Pros

GitLab is a unique culture, and people live the values. Its restored my faith that companies can be positive, caring and impactful.

Cons

It took me a while to adapt to the async way of working, but once you've worked it out, it is much better. Full remote can be hard for extroverts, so you need to figure out how to balance the remote work environment with other activities outside work.
