Pros

You can work remotely and have a decent amount of time off.

Cons

When reflecting on my experience, I find myself contemplating, "Where do I begin?" It is important to acknowledge that the work environment I encountered had its fair share of challenges. One aspect that stood out to me was the misalignment between the company's values and the actions of its leadership. While the values were prominently displayed, it became evident that they were not consistently upheld by those in charge. This discrepancy created a sense of disillusionment among the employees. Additionally, micro-management and poor communication from leadership were prevalent issues that hindered productivity and collaboration. The rapid growth of the organization brought about the hiring of managers who did not fully embrace the company's values. This unfortunate circumstance contributed to the creation of a less-than-ideal work environment. Advancement opportunities were very limited, and seeking a well-deserved raise often felt like a never-ending process. Salary adjustments did not keep up with inflation. Regrettably, unchecked bias within the company made it challenging for minority employees to thrive. This issue needs to be addressed promptly and comprehensively to foster an inclusive and supportive workplace for all team members. Furthermore, it was disheartening to observe that teams not directly involved in revenue generation were not always recognized or treated as valuable contributors to the company.

Pros

Very open about everything including salary, company handbook, and even product source code. Mostly positive culture.

Cons

Has become considerably more bureaucratic as the company has scaled up. Managers focusing on metrics that make the team look good rather than focusing on best decisions for the company or product. Lost focus on writing quality software and eliminating technical debt.
