Many good people but a challenging environment in which to work as the firm is trying hard find a new identity.

Pros

A good number of charismatic forward thinking people (many new hires) that are eager to help Glemede rebrand and establish a leaner, more nimble consultative model that appeals to a wider demographic. Beautiful offices, thoughtful CEO who invests time in the firm's emoloyees.

Cons

Lots of pressure on support staff and associates as the firm has to 'project' elite service to justify high fees and complex investment products / recommendations. Many of the portfolio managers see index funds under their beds at night. Technology and communications were dependent upon a good amount of duct tape and Elmers but they've hired some great leaders that are making strong strides in this area. Question is whether Glenmede can shed traditional trust company structures and behaviors and be brave enough to work with clients instead of for them. Some inside are great advocates of this change others are clinging tightly to the past. Reward structure for new business is slightly less sophisticated than the MMA circuit.
