Pros

1) My starting salary was decent, 2) The benefits are decent (401k matching), 3) The company invests time/effort into the software/platform.

Cons

GlobalData is in the bucket of publicly traded companies that have antiquated business practices and treat their employees as such. I've been in sales for over a decade and can affirm that a salesperson is only as good as their book of business, leads, accounts, etc. To that end, I expressed dismay about the mediocre accounts that I was provided to my direct manager AND the manager they reported to on several different occasions. My manager and I even reviewed my accounts and removed nearly half of them from my pipeline. Other accounts had somewhat of a business case but it was definitely a long-shot, and that's IF I could get them to engage with me to begin with. I soon began spending more time cleaning out these types of companies from my pipeline as opposed to actual new business outreach! Still, I was optimistic. My direct manager took the lead on all my demos and assured me that we would close business as long as I kept booking them. I eventually learned that this optimism was grossly misplaced, mainly because my book of business wasn't viable, as I mentioned earlier. I also forgave the rocky start at GlobalDataconsidering the shift to remote work due to COVID restrictions. I was in an extended training class that lasted weeks longer than it should have due to lack of guidance from management. I forgave that it took several months to get access to sales tools that would help me be more effective in our "new normal" (Lusha, Sales Navigator, etc). Furthermore, my fellow colleagues even validated my experience with similar experiences of their own. Honestly, if we weren't in a pandemic, I would have left the company that day. But hey, it's a paycheck, amirite? The thing is, it's not *just* a paycheck. It's also your sanity, your time and effort, your career, and so much more. For a select few at GlobalData (sales) it may be worth it, but for the most part, and this is my experience (likely many others as well) IT ISN'T WORTH IT.   TL;DR: GlobalData is a relic of the past and if you are a Gen Zer or Millennial, do not waste your time even reading the job description. Take a hard pass and look elsewhere. Gen X and earlier: unless you already work here, I know...that you know...that you can do better - look elsewhere!
