Pros

The only pro is that the office is central and close to the tube

Cons

To many to list One of the sales directors once sent an email to the whole team saying anybody who had not made a sale that week deserved Novichok on their door handle when they got home. Saw people doing hard drugs in the office on multiple occasions The sales people will lie and make false promises to prospects just to make a sale. Sexist working culture- sexism is encouraged Bullying culture- the management encourage bullying Micromanaged and constantly watched Awful pay- commission is good for those that make sales No internal transparency Not encouraged to learn new things or speak to other teams Awful facilities- 3 microwaves for an office with over 300 people in Very little career progression Product is pretty bad as well You are told you are weak and do not value your work if you need to leave early for a doctors appointment etc If I could give a zero rating I would

Pros

The analyst team are great people, with lots of keen, enthusiastic workers. Maybe good as a first job, as lots of people move on to different companies, which can provide useful connections. High profile clients, giving you solid exposure to many titans of industry.

Cons

A common theme you will see through reviews of GlobalData, especially from the analyst side, is the complete absence of care displayed by upper management and HR. The once yearly performance review takes about three months from start to finish, and any process involving spending of money requires sign off from so many different senior people it displays a complete distrust of employees. While some reviews might point to internal progression, this is only facilitated by the unreal turnover in employees, with the average analyst in my experience lasting for under a year. The lack of any benefits worth mentioning compounds these issues, with things you might take for granted at companies which care about their employees such as tea and coffee not provided. In addition to this, the facilities and computers, which you will spend almost all of your time using, are past their best before date. Many of the computers are still running Windows 7 in 2019, and use versions of Microsoft office from 2007-2010, with wholly inadequate specs for hosting conference calls, leading to frequent freezes during client presentations. When you add to this the below average salaries and low annual raises, it becomes clear that the company is penny-wise and pound-foolish, unwilling or unable to keep experienced and talented people, and pretending to itself that fresh college graduates are adequate substitutes.

Pros

Absolutely nothing good about it

Cons

This company is totally unethical and dishonest and the CEO is a sociopath. The whole culture is one of bullying and harassment (of every single type) and they have no interest in changing it as it is driven from the top. You will be lied to throughout recruitment and for as long as you work there. The goalposts will be moved multiple times daily and you will never get a straight answer or clear instructions, and if you do they will be changed 180 the next day. The facilities and buildings are disgusting and unhygienic and I'm certain would never pass a real health and safety audit. Two types of people work there - smart, well educated people who have been lied to and duped into working there and will regret it for the rest of there lives and total halfwits who have no idea what they are doing... Or just don't care. Turnover is insanely high and I have yet to meet anyone who has anything good to say about it. Anyone who comes in who actually seems decent and like they could actually make things better and like they might have some ethics either gets the boot or leaves as soon as they can. The senior managers and execs etc are required to write 5 star glowing reviews on glass door or they get the boot so don't believe any of the glowing reviews. The products are terrible and filled with made up data and stats and ex clients have nothing good to say - and not many current ones do either. There is no clear strategy or any kind improvement mindset other than a total focus on sales and hitting ludicrously high targets. If I had to guess I would say there is some kind of pump and dump plan to push the share price as high as possible, sell out for millions and leave whoever buys it with egg on their face and a lemon of a company that looks nothing like the company they thought they were buying. But thats just my guess. No-one actual knows what the plan, or any plan, is. Stay the hell away from this place.
