Pros

GlobalData offers the most opportunity for growth for young professionals (particularly in sales), who are new to the job market. It has made considerable improvements, from the time I started, e.g. improved facilities, heavy investment both on online and corporate branding, with a focus on social media.

Cons

The business owner has a reputation for building businesses with the view of selling them for profit. The method is relatively simple, to keep costs down (even if it means a high turnover of the people, who generate the content) and sell at whatever price, you can get away with. As far as I am aware, there was not, a structured approach to managing margins and keeping them healthy.Another way of keeping cost down was to take back on one hand, what you handed over with the other hand (no free coffee, the coffees machines were operated by the facilities department) and the staff cafeteria had to generate a profit. Outdated prospection techniques, coupled with a level of micromanagement rarely seen before or after the GlobalData experience, are the mark of a firm unable to trust the brilliant minds, they hire. Add to that a conflict of interest between the marketing and sales teams and you understand the reasons that employees, who have had the luxury of working for more professional firms, tend not to stay long. Also the incompetence of some middle management staff, is also certainly not helped, by the servile reverence of the human resources department towards them.

Pros

Central location of London office, some great colleagues in analysis and events which is in contrast to incompetent and rude management

Cons

No clear direction with frequent confusing changes that don't let you do your job. Management is more occupied with internal power games and very short-term sales targets that lead to chaos and high staff turnover

Pros

Nice people. Easy to get along with for the most part.

Cons

There are clearly a lot of fake reviews here on glassdoor. The pay isn't great and it is hardly a learning experience. What you do on day 7 is not terribly different from what you do on day 365. Little hope of progression, recent recruits are trying to get out.
