Creating a culture of mediocrity

Pros

A fake it til you make it company Conducive to employees who play it safe and stay off the radar. If you're on time, a good yes man, don't care about your salary-this is THE place for YOU !

Cons

The pay here is a JOKE compared to industry standards, yet HR will tell you with a straight face that you should be grateful for making more than the building services technicians at Target. No joke, Target ! Because we all know how cutting edge and highly technical a Target warehouse must be ! Zero incentive to be a top performer, so you might as well take it easy, not stress, and earn the same 3 and the same $00.27 raise as the guy who worked his tail off hoping to get a 4 or 3.5 (creating a culture of mediocrity) Why care ? Why do a good job ? The whole "market down turn" excuse only works if you actually paid us when there was a semiconductor bull market. But you didn't, and there was a different excuse then too. Every ambitious, zealous, competent employee has undergone a metamorphosis into a lazy, take it easy, do just enough to keep my boss off my back -slacker, you can thank the succession of upper management for the culture of mediocrity created at Fab8. If you've actually managed to stick it out through the dismal projects, forced vacation furloughs, crappy raises, false promises, missed paydays, then HR just views you as someone that would've left already if they had a better opportunity somewhere else.

Pros

Salary and benefits are within industry standard

Cons

I spent 8 years working at the Malta site as a technical leader in the integration organization. I had high hopes for the success of GF, which began to fade over the past 2-3 years. Health costs are higher than competitors. GF has started to charge based on your salary, making higher paid workers pay more than others. This and other changes impacting employees salary and benefits are all driven by the severe cash poor situation and poor financial outlook for GF moving forward. Poor morale since major layoff which removed majority of senior technical leaders in production has driven many newer workers from the company. There is very high attrition due to low confidence in job security, loss of technical resources, and too many changes in direction by senior management.

Pros

0 pros nothing good to see here at all just run from thus company.

Cons

Tons of cons in fact working and moving your life for this sham of a company is a con job if I ever seen one before in my life. I see fake reviews probly posted by HR to boost the ratings on this site because nobody wants to work at GF people keep quitting. 17 to 20 percent have quit and left after the last huge layoff people are just walking out and quitting lol and I see people posting fake posts with lots of positive things that are total lies. There is no future here no partners no 7nm no nothing no new product. Management can't be trusted at all because they lie and leave you in the dark. The people who do still want their jobs are living in fear and sucking up to the company until they will get the door slammed in their face it's an ugly picture nobody wants to see. I could go on it I would be here all day sheesh.
