Pros

Great colleagues. GLOBALFOUNDRIES hires great people and everyone is doing their best. If GLOBALFOUNDRIES could get a technology edge, it would be great place to be. I would recommend to a friend if they are OK with the risks. The next 2-3 years are going to be tough as GLOBALFOUNDRIES works to get a technology edge, but the IBM guys can do it. IBM used to lead, then Intel took the lead and the IBM Consortium was a fast follower. These IBM engineers are now in GLOBALFOUNDRIES so R&D execution should improve.

Cons

Tough industry unless you have a technology edge. Intel does the best as it has the largest technology lead. Samsung and TSMC are not Intel, but they do well. GLOBALFOUNDRIES is having trouble finding a niche where they are the best. IBM technology will help that over time but right now pricing and margins are low because the technology is not uniquely valuable. Lack of growth reduces career opportunities.

Pros

Great place to learn and grow

Cons

No pay scale. They need to have a starting rate of pay for all techs from tech to staff tech. As it is now a principal tech can make less than a new hire. We train people that make more than us and are lower ranking. Why have a ranking system if no pay scale?? No reward for hard work
