They often prioritize contractors over employees in some teams, most of the times you are not even involved in the meetings that is related to your project: you need to proactively ask what are all the changes to come for the new release, or you will come to know it by a third person, not the manager. They sometimes promise to make you work on some interesting and new projects, but it never happens in the end.
