Pros

Flexible hours for salaried workers. Frequent mini events with free food. Individual contributors are friendly and some management is friendly as well.

Cons

Multiple things: -I have witnessed multiple instances of harassment and hostile sexual harassment from McKinney and OKC VP's and above. Comments made about race, ability, age, and sexuality obviously makes employees uncomfortable, however the upper-level management that makes these comments does not take a hint. Employees are afraid to directly speak up for fear of retribution, but their body language and reaction to comments show issue with the statement. This is unacceptable at any level, but this is mostly coming from VP's and above. -Most of the work is not very engaging or challenging. -Expensive health care. -Overall the company says that they want to explore change and come into the 21st century, but in reality no one seems to accept opportunities for change. -Major projects take at least 5 years to implement. -Every action is allegedly targeted at cost savings, but simple cost-saving measures are not taken if it requires a business change.

IT is being outsourced

Pros

Opportunity to learn new skills

Cons

They will be outsourcing IT jobs later this year. Most of the IT leaders do not care about the employees. (The previous head of IT is an amazing leader, the new guys not so much) The business group's have an adversarial relationship with IT. (This is common at many companies but it is bad at GL) Not enough staff for the various roles = no work life balance.
