Pros

There are some great people here. If you're a hard working employee and reliable and have half a brain you'll usually be given an opportunity for advancement.

Cons

Upper management is delusional (hey guys, you work at an insurance company in McKinney, TX, not Wall Street. You're not gods on Mount Olympus, either.). The executives here like to make sure everyone knows how important they are and that the lowly mortals don't deign to breathe the same air as them. Mostly, compensation for any position under management level is astonishingly, astoundingly low. They promote from within because they know they can pay much less than if they hired someone from outside to do the same job. However, they have no problem spending ludicrous amounts of money redesigning the executive kitchen/dining/lounge area, and letting the executives schmooze it up at boozy dinners and work trips.

Pros

Not a dang thing unless you are looking for a straight commission position that requires you to drive all over town in your own car, wasting gas with no guarantee of income and try to sell life insurance.

Cons

Lie to bring people in. NOT CUSTOMER SERVICE AS ADVERTISED. NO HOURLY PAY! Must come out of your pocket to get licensed. Con Men.

Pros

The only good thing that I can say about this place is that there is no micromanagement and some of the people are friendly.

Cons

Lots of red tape. If I know who to go to in order to get the answers that I need, why do I have to go through 3 people (who don't know) just to get to them? Very old school and paper driven company. You can not update your direct deposit online and anytime you have a change, you have to go to HR and give them an actual check. Who carries checks?!! The building is outdated and a few employees have gotten staph infection in the last month or so. Dirty carpet, except if you're in upper management. Nice size cafeteria, but no food!! A vender comes, but once they're out of food, you're out of luck! The old heads don't like new ideas and will let you know it. Annnnnnd most importantly, the pay is at least 20-30% less than market. So, again... RUN!!!
