Pros

GoFundMe has great pay and excellent benefits. As an employee you enjoy lots of bonuses, funding for meals, fun outings (when possible), stock options, full health benefits, access to mental health support, and many other perks. The people they hire are genuinely kind, good, and talented people. The work you do is fulfilling. GoFundMe has become a household name and is an avenue of support for a lot of folks who wouldn't find financial support elsewhere. GoFundMe is doing great as a company and is growing quickly.

Cons

GoFundMe "Runs Lean" which basically means they are perpetually short staffed and a large workload falls on a smaller number of employees rather than hiring to keep up with their rapid growth. There are less opportunities for upward mobility and to be 'promoted from within'. In Customer Support, management is young and inexperienced. They do not know how to treat people's time as a limited resource and manage accordingly. There is blatant favoritism and a culture of toxic positivity. There are metric expectations which are very high and there is a problem with team members inflating metrics in an effort to keep their jobs. Rather than fix the problem at the root they fire anyone they catch inflating metrics although it's a widespread problem. If you don't inflate metrics you often struggle to keep up and are treated poorly. I was trained by three different agents at three different times on how to inflate metrics. They always acknowledged it was wrong and always said something like: 'you do what you have to'. Other agents also shared similar experiences and yet management wouldn't change the expectations. Instead, they create a culture of instability and fear. It's a huge problem that leads to burn out. While they talk a lot about empathy, that is rarely extended to employees in customer support. I witnessed team members get fired when difficult life circumstances interfered with their ability to meet high metric standards. It was hard to witness and was demoralizing.

Pros

- Good perks - Reasonable pay - Amazing co workers - Amazing managers in the department - Ability to work remote

Cons

- Scheduling can be tough sometimes, (latest shift 12-9) - Not much change can be made unless you're higher up

Pros

*The people! Pretty much everyone is genuinely a good person all the way up to the executive team. *Do The Right Thing: This a company core value, and it's clear the company takes this seriously. Example: the company has been working on increasing it's diversity for years across all departments and levels. The results of the efforts were shown to the entire company in a very transparent manner and showed significant improvements year over year with no signs of slowing. Truly good inside and out. Not performative, but genuine and real. *Fantastic benefits, competitive pay. *Safety of employees is a top priority *Very transparent. All employees are empowered to ask questions (submitted anonymously, if the employee wishes) and those questions are answered at monthly company-wide meetings *The list goes on...

Cons

*Fast-paced work environment with work that matters which means work-life boundaries can get blurry if you aren't thoughtful about it. *Some departments have less-than-ideal work schedules which can include working on the weekends.
