Call center constant micro managing and sales pressure in customer service

Cons

Customer service is not the focus, sales are 90 percent of the job even though there is a sales dpt. you are not given credit for offering only sales that are referred and are closed or you will be on write up. Not enough training to do the job, just a bare minimum to get you by to get on the floor and sale.. High pressure company with no integrity it's only about making them a dollar. Truly not a credit union . It's a front

Pros

Very laid back atmosphere in most departments. A lot of opportunity to learn and grow. They will work with you if you are having issues for the most part. They are not driven too heavily by sales or margins.

Cons

Mobility is blocked if you work in the call center, they want you to pretty much stay there. There systems are very antiquated, and a lot of their processes are not aligned with the modern business world. There is a lot of red tape and not a lot of communication or transparency between departments. Close minded to ideas that don't originate from within the company Most of the senior staff has been with this company so long that they have lost objectivity.

Overall culture of the company is OK, but the senior management has to go.

Cons

The Marketing Department at Golden 1 imploded after senior management took steps to ensure its death by hiring an advertising agency. The result was a HUGE number of people leaving, extreme mismanagement and a closed culture. This is a toxic environment that may not get better until a huge overhaul of management or the communications style of the managers occurs.
